On the first half of this episode, we discussed Nick Park and Peter Lord's 2000 film Chicken Run, in which a brood of chickens conspire to escape the prison-like confines of Tweedy's farm.

In this episode, we'll consider another stop-motion feature about animals conspiring to escape captivity.

Wes Anderson's ninth feature, Isle of Dogs, which follows a pack of quarantine canines as they plot a return from exile.

Voiced by Brian Cranston as chief, Edward Norton as Rex, Bob Balaban

as King, Bill Murray as Boss, and Jeff Goldboom as Duke, the pack in question picks through the

scraps on Trash Island, where their former masters in Megasaki City have left them. The strong

man mayor of Megasaki City, Kobayashi, is really more of a cat person, and when a dog virus spreads throughout the canine population, he signs a decree to banish them to Trash Island.

Six months later, Kobayashi's orphan nephew Atari, voiced by Koyu Rankin, steals a plane and flies to Trash Island in search of his beloved dog's spots.

As Atari joins chief in the

gang to search for spots and find a way off the island, a political battle wages on a

Megasaki city, where scientists and pro-dog activists are searching for a cure for the dog virus

and trying to stop Kobayashi from exterminating the animals entirely. And that just scratches

the surface of a plot that brings in

Wes Anderson veterans and newcomers alike, including Courtney B. Vance as the narrator,
