Summary

Multiple Suspects Arrested in Rock Spree Homicide Part 1 Alexa Bartell: Overnight Tuesday, April 25 – Wednesday, April 26, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested three suspects in connection with the death of 20-year-old Alexa Bartell. Alexa was killed when a rock was thrown through her windshield as she was driving northbound in the 10600 block of Indiana Street at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19. Alexa’s vehicle was the last of a series of vehicles struck by large landscaping rocks in a spree that began shortly after 10:00 p.m. that night at 100th and Simms in Westminster. Since then, JCSO investigators - with assistance from Westminster Police, Arvada Police, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office - worked around the clock to identify and arrest the suspects responsible for Alexa’s death. Joseph Koenig (DOB 9/11/04), Nicholas “Mitch” Karol-Chik (DOB 10/17/04), and Zachary Kwak (DOB 3/18/05), all 18, were taken into custody at their homes in Arvada. - Jefferson County Sheriff Part 2 Joe Michael Ervin: Last winter, police in Denver, Colorado, announced that they had solved the cold-case murders of four women who had died about 40 years ago, all of whom had been the victims of one man—a previously unknown serial killer named Joe Michael Ervin. The story was chillingly real but sounded like a crime novel. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Ervin took the lives of four women who appeared to have nothing in common. -BJA SOURCES: https://youtu.be/zs4ByiCguao https://lawandcrime.com/crime/man-who-fatally-shot-colorado-police-officer-in-1981-traffic-stop-was-actually-a-serial-killer-cops/ https://allthatsinteresting.com/joe-michael-ervin https://bja.ojp.gov/news/blog/finding-serial-killer-and-justice-after-40-years#:~:text=Last%20winter%2C%20police%20in%20Denver,sounded%20like%20a%20crime%20novel. https://www.jeffco.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=2056 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12016457/Three-men-arrested-murder-female-motorist-killed-huge-ROCK-smashed-windscreen.html https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-daily-sentinel/123573352/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEWt2DuRqO0 https://www.newspapers.com/image/810119063/?terms=Madeleine%20Furey-Livaudais&match=1 Learn more about your ad choices.
