research and treatment. So where am I? You're at the clinical trials facility at King's College

We're going to be talking a lot about psychedelics and how they could revolutionize mental health.

So first of all, let's be clear, what are psychedelics?

Well, here's psychiatrists, James Rucker, and first David Oretzo.

The more classic psychedelics, they are psilocybin, which exists in magic mushrooms or magic

truffles, DMT, which is this psychedelic active compound in a psychedelic brew used in the

Amazonian cultures called ayahuasca, and we are using that in trials to test it for depression as well.

Mascalin is coming from the peyote cactus, and then LSD synthetic compound developed around

a Second World War in Switzerland.

way. And this results in quite a profound and unusual experience that can be mystical, very pleasurable, but also anxiety-provoking.
