What trembles underground far down, down deep on the perimeter of sleep?

What shuddering allulation rises but half clear to tempt the outward straining ear?

Who calls upon the ancient ones indifferent to man's race?

Shubnigarath, Kathulhu with the face of tentacles, Nialathetep Azathoth

who wait forever on the rim of time and space. The hour is late for humankind in Raleigh's

deep, great Kathulhu sleeps and has to lurks beyond the Hyades. What moves across the stars

just past the trees? What monstrous shadow lengthens

tangibly beneath the moon? Howard, this is your legacy. Welcome to Mythos Month. That poem is

I didn't understand why it was suggested we would run it at first.

I have made no secret of my disdain for Providence Rhode Island's most famous racist,

or my exhaustion at Howe decades after his death.

It so often seems that the Western horror genres remain trapped in his shadow.
