comes to us from Marianne Halbert. This story was originally published by Mocha Memoirs Press

in the Grotesquery in 2014 and reprinted in the collection Cold Comforts from Crossroads Press

in 2019. Marianne Halbert is an author from Central Indiana. Her quiet horror stories have been

described as whimsical and terrifying as well as elegant and macabre. Her latest collection is

Cold Comforts from Crossroads Press, published in 2019, and is full of slow-burnt horror stories.

Marianne is a member of the HWA and was on the How to Haunt a House panel at Beacon. You can
