Hi everyone, welcome to Sudapod, the Weekly Horror Podcast.

I'm Alistair, your host, and our story this week comes from all the way back in 1927.

The Canal was first published in Weird Tales in December of that year

and was later made into a TV episode on Rod Serling's popular series

Night Gallery. Everl Warl wrote no less than 19 stories for Weird Tales, and made the cover three times.

Having published stories in Weird Tales between 1926 and the mid-50s,

Morel is considered the magazine's most frequent contributor over that long

expanse of time. Morel's daughter recounted that her parents had the walls of their apartment

decorated with the artwork for her stories and the covers of

issues of weird tales.

When I was born, however, they thought they'd better take the pictures down because they didn't

want to frighten the baby.
