In addition to their adult music,

Deb and Ernie were looking for a hot new angle on Christian children's music

and the midst of a quote, Holy Spirit Brainstorm session.

They came up with the character of Salty.

You know, like a Psalter, a K.A. book full of Psalms.

Essentially, the idea was, what if a book but singing?

Bird in the early 80s, the Salty Cinematic Universe,

name musical universe came to include Salty, played by Ernie.
