We are diving in to the Songs of Ascent.

We're climbing up, scaling the mountain.

We're scaling the songs of Ascent. We're climbing up, scaling the mountain. We're scaling the songs of Ascent. We talked last... It would be a completely... A wrong mixing of metaphors to dive deep into the songs of a set. That would be... Yeah, we have to wait until the last group of podcast, rewind. That's right. It was bad. It was so bad. We actually will dive deep in the third set of the songs.

Oh, we go down?

Because you start in the depths. Okay. But you come out. You come out. Yeah, yeah. So we're climbing up the songs of Ascent, but we're just starting. You mentioned last time there are three groupings of five Psalms of Ascent. That's right. Making 15 total.

And the first five have a distinct theme, which I've already forgotten.

So remind me, what did we talk about 30 minutes ago? So zooming out

one last time, though, the Songs of Ascent are songs associated with Israel leaving exile

after being exiled from the city of God to dwell among wicked nations

and be ruled by them. Now God is restoring them back to the land, back to his presence, back to the

temple, back to the mount, back to their purpose as a saved people. Back to the kingdom of God, yes.

Back to the kingdom of God. Yes.

Back to the kingdom of God.

And these songs of Ascent are 15 songs that form what we call the concept album of return

from exile that help us see into the ultimate purpose and beauty and means of that return from exile.
