Today, the Bible Study podcast continues the study of the book of Psalms with Psalm 76.

I'm your host, Chris Christensen. It sounds a little strange to say I'm continuing a study when I haven't been doing this study for years, but we've done a study before on the first 75 of the 150 Psalms that are in the book ofsalms. I'm planning on continuing that study now,

probably for about half a year or about 25 Psalms, but we'll see how it goes. Some of these

are going to be covering multiple Psalms in one week, and so maybe I'll do a little more than that.

I eventually want to finish the book of Psalms, but I'm not sure I want to do 75 Psalms in a row. But let's see how it goes. Psalm 76 for the director of music with

stringed instruments, a psalm of Asaph, a song. God is renowned in Judah. In Israel, his name is great. His tent is in in Judah.

In Israel his name is great.

His tent is in Selam, his dwelling place in Zion.

There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields, and the swords, the weapons of war.

You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.

The valiant lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep.

Not one of the warriors can lift his hands at your rebuke, God of Jacob.

Both horse and chariot lie still.

It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?

From heaven you pronounced judgment and the land feared and was quiet. When you God rose up to judge

to save all the afflicted of the land. Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise,

and the survivors of your wrath are restrained. Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them.

Let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the one to be feared. He breaks the spirit of rulers.

He is feared by the kings of the earth.

So as we said in the beginning of this, the instructions for this is this is a song.
