Dad, how are you doing this morning?

We're going to dive into our verse this morning.

It's Psalm 232.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside quiet waters.

First of all, it's just so soothing just to listen to those words he makes me lie down in

green pastures and leads me beside quiet waters immediately my mind goes to the conversation jesus was

having in john chapter 10 when he's speaking to his disciples and into those who are listening in

and he says, I am the door. Whoever enters in through me comes through enters into green

pastures. And he's giving them this promise that when you enter into a relationship with him,

you now live in a sense wide open spaces.

You now live in a land of plenty and a land of good. And this imagery that David gives us,

remember, David was a shepherd, and he spent a lot of his days out in the open hills and watching over the sheep and

tending the flock so when he says he makes me lie down and he pastures i imagine that david had a lot of

days where he just laid in the pasture on the hill enjoyed the sun and the cool breeze and just

felt like he was living the life. You know?

And he leads me besides quiet waters.

I don't think this is just a metaphor out of a vacuum.
