Hey everyone, this is Mary Demuth, and this is Pray Every Day, where I pray you through the Bible verse by verse with joy and intention.

Today I'm reading from Psalm

chapters 12, 13, and 14, or I guess they're not really chapters. They're just stand-alone Psalms.

And as I did before, I will pray after each one. So in the World English Bible, here is Psalm 12.

Help, Yahweh, for the godly man ceases, for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

Everyone lies to his neighbor.

They speak with flattering lips and with a double heart.

May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips and the tongue that boasts, who have said,

with our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is Lord over us? Because of the

oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise, says

Yahweh. I will set him in safety from those who malign him.

Yahweh's words are flawless words,

as silver refined in a clay furnace purified seven times.

Mind if I pray for you? Lord, I just feel like that psalm was written for today's world. It's so,

so relevant. We're looking and swimming in a culture of lies and falsehood and deception and persecution as well.
