Hey everyone, this is Mary Demuth and this is Pray Every Day, where I joyfully pray you through the Bible verse by verse.

I'm so excited to have you here.

And I have a really fun announcement.

So I was supposed to read another book of the Old Testament in our schedule that Kristen and I have established.

And I was kind of weary after Jeremiah and lamentations, as you can imagine. I needed something different.

And so I decided to change it up and I won't tell you the book I was going to read,

but I had just recently read it and I was kind of like, I can't do it again. I just can't read it out loud right now.

When you're wallowing in the exile, it can be a lot.

And I also understand that some of you have been in paths where you have felt exiled for a really long time.

So I get that.

But I just want to walk you through some encouragement. So we are going

to go through the Psalms in the next couple months, and I am so excited about that. So today, I am

reading Psalm 1 and Psalm 2 from the World English Bible, and this is what it says. And what I'm going to do is a little bit different. If I'm

reading more than one Psalm, I'm going to pause after each one and pray for you according to

each individual Psalm. So for instance, I'm going to read Psalm 1. I'm going to pray for you about

Psalm 1. Then I'll read Psalm 2 and pray for you. So hopefully that'll be okay and here we go.

Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked,
