But as I've sort of learned more about you in preparation for this meeting, Priot,

you're a bit of an iceberg.

Iceberg?

Yeah.

This tiny bit of you that appears above the surface in recent years,

as you've achieved television celebrity,

actually masks an astonishing life and story,

some of which was lived in the public eye, some not in the public eye,

but which goes back much further than your current fame.

Well, that's partly because I've lived so long.

Let's begin at the beginning then.

You were born in South Africa.

You lived there for most of your childhood.

Your mother was an actress.

It was quite an extraordinary childhood.

Well, it was really extraordinary because, you know, it didn't seem extraordinary to me,

but then nobody's childhood seems extraordinary to them.

I guess not.

But you know that no one else's mum.
