| 0:40.7 | Now there are seven main virtues that means good actions that we turn into habits that lead us to happiness. |
| 0:44.9 | Prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance, faith, hope, and love. |
| 0:49.2 | Now prudence is the first of the virtues because it's the skill, the art of making good decisions. |
| 1:00.8 | But prudence is also first because it keeps before our eyes at all times our final goal. |
| 1:08.0 | And it directs all of our choices toward that goal. |
| 1:12.0 | That goal being union with God. So, prudence is a lot like going |
| 1:19.3 | on vacation. What's the first thing that has to be decided before you go? Well, you have to decide |
| 1:25.2 | where you're going to go. Then we determine the best way to reach the destination. |
| 1:31.9 | So prudence is first because it places before us, it lays before our eyes our true goal. |
| 1:40.0 | Happiness through transforming union with God. |
| 1:43.0 | And then prudence directs all our choices to that goal. |
| 1:47.0 | So the first question we have to ask and the question we ask at all times is, will this choice lead me toward or away from God? |

| 2:07.6 | person or this relationship, this job, this major. will these things lead me to a better relationship with Jesus or not? |
