Welcome back to another episode of the Bryce Trevor podcast. I'm Bryce, and today we're on Proverbs 29 out of 31 chapters 31 chapters guys we are three chapters out for finishing the

book of proverbs i pray this series has been a blessing to you guys let's read proverbs 29 together

and break it down verse one he who is often reproved yet stiffens his neck will suddenly be broken

beyond healing so anytime that a hard neck is referenced in the book of proverb is talking about

a stubborn

attitude that someone has. And this stubborn, rebellious man that continues in his disobedience

for a long time, he's going to be suddenly destroyed and there's absolutely no hope for him.

First two, when the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule people groan,

he who loves wisdom makes his father glad,

but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth. We've read that earlier. Father speaking to his son

about wisdom, and it makes a father's heart glad when he sees his son walking in wisdom. First four,

by justice a king builds up the land, but he who exacts gifts tears it down. A nation can only expect

strength and progress when it's ruled by justice, with justice. And how do we get ultimate

justice if we have leaders around the globe that are submitted to the Lord?

Verse five. A man who flatters his neighbor, spreads a net for his feet. In this sense,

like we said in a previous proverb,

this flattery is an excessive praise or a given a given sense of attention to a neighbor and hope to gain something.

It's just a flat out trap. An evil man is ensnared in his transgression, but a righteous man sings and rejoices.
