wisdom. Let me see if I can put them together. If I can bring the invisible wisdom

into visibility through some proverbs. Jesus is the invisible wisdom incarnated and walking

around. And so when we see Jesus do something, we're seeing how wisdom would act perfectly.

And so being a disciple is learning to live wisely as Jesus lived.

It's living his life after him.

Well, welcome everyone to the spoken gospel podcast. Thank you so much for joining us. We are starting our journey through the book of Proverbs today. And as always, I've got my right hand man, Seth, with me, ready to dive in to the proverbial unknown. Oh, wow. Wow. The word Proverbs has already come up as a pun. I did it. Kind of. I wasn't really a pun, but, you know. Yeah. We're close enough. Yeah. So we're going into Proverbs. Yep. This is a unique book on several fronts. And maybe that's what we can try to talk about today is what are the unique contributions this book has, the unique style, the unique aim, what's

it doing in the Bible? Because it's a poetic book, which is already, you know, unique in a

sense we're going to see it's not entirely unique. I mean, there's a lot of poetry in the Bible.

There's a lot of poetry in the Bible. I actually have some stats here.

Stats about poetry the Bible? I've got poetry stats. Wow. Which is two things that shouldn't go

together. Poetry and statistics. But we're going to talk about it. Is it wise to you know it might

not be but it is perhaps knowledge and understanding which the book of proverbs is about.

Yeah. Like about a third of the Old Testament is poetry. So it's a big thing. That's wild. Which is a poet, I can appreciate that, you know? And sometimes it's like sprinkled into different narratives, like in Genesis. Like in Tolkien, like Lord of the Rings. He just like pops a song in right now and then. Yeah, he's very biblically influenced. There you go. Or you have a whole book comprised of poetry, like in Psalms. And there's different kinds of poetry. There's like lyric poetry, which is poetry that's meant to be sung. Like the Psalms. Like the Psalms, exactly. There's prophetic poetry, which are oracles, like in Jaya. And I think my,

my favorite theory about why prophecies are poetic. Poetic is because they're essentially
