story. We were from County Quark, Southern Ireland and the famine hit, the

potato famine and many of my relatives either died of starvation or

typhoid. I mean it was catastrophic. So people are starving to death and then

you'd go into some public facility and there you would catch typhoid. So either

way you die. Many of my relatives died of starvation and typhoid. Now this

includes many of the wives. And so now you have men who have no wife, they have no
