Trying to see if we can do two chapters a week.

We have been unsuccessful in doing so.

Some of you are looking at me like, what's this we stuff?

You have been unsuccessful in doing two chapters.

Well, we're not in a hurry.

We're really wanting to take our time studying

through this book. I would rather have us prepared for two chapters and not have us do it

than not have us be prepared when we could have studied two chapters. So we're going to pick

it up where we left off last week, finishing chapter chapters. So we're going to pick it up where we left off last week

finishing chapter 21 so we'll start in chapter 22 and see how far we go and we'll just go as the Lord leads.

So why don't we begin with a word of prayer if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we want to thank you.

We're so grateful to you for this time that we have on a Thursday night to come together as a church body and open up our Bibles and spend time together

in your word and fellowship together and worship together.

Lord, it's for many of us a day of the week that we so look forward to where we can come together

and put aside all of the busyness of our

lives and all the cares and the affairs and just focus our attention on you and open up our hearts

to receive from you. So Lord, will you bless our time together in your word tonight? Lord,

thank you for the book of Proverbs. It's just so rich, so full, so packed of so much. So, Lord,

bless our time we pray. In Jesus' name, amen. All right, let's jump in. in verse one right out of the shoot we're starting off with a

really really powerful truth here a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches loving favor rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.

Oh, would to God that this were true?
