the word proverbs we're going to pick it up in chapter 14 and lord willing will make it through

to chapter 15 but hold on very loosely to chapter 15 because there are several proverbs in

chapter 14 that i think we should spend the needed time on and so this is our pace

I guess you might say and on Thursday nights we're making our way through the

Bible book by book chapter by chapter verse and in Proverbs, it's really line by line

and precept upon precept. So we're in now the chapters that are what some call the contrasting

Proverbs, which are pithy nuggets of truth that are woven into the fabric of each

of these proverbs and they are so packed full so rich there's so much and I think we would be

grossly remiss if we were to rush through them and in so doing miss what God has

for us in them. So why don't we pray and we'll ask God to bless our time tonight if you would join

with me. Thank you, Lord.

Lord, we are really looking forward to what you have for us tonight here in your Word.

And that's why we're here because there's this anticipation that we're going to hear you speak into our lives in and through your Word, particularly in and through this amazing book of wisdom, this book of

Proverbs. So Lord, we long for, we hunger, we thirst for, that wisdom that comes from above,

that comes only from you.

And Lord, we're so thankful to you that you've recorded these proverbs here in the pages of Scripture.

So Lord, bless our time tonight, together in your word.

And Lord, get our attention and keep our attention so our minds don't wander we pray in Jesus name amen all right let's jump in verse one and this is

one verse that I think requires a little bit of time on.

The wise woman builds her house but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

You know it wasn't long ago that we were not victims of what's come to be known as political correctness.

I'm talking about those days when you could actually get away with saying things like the woman of the house.
