Father in heaven, thank you.

Thank you for giving us prayer with which to reach you, communicate with you.

Lord, thank you that we have unfettered access to the creator of the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that in them

is at any time that you are there, that at any time we can ask you for anything, that at any time

we can ask you for anything, and if it's according to your will,

and it's for your glory, we can have that which we ask for.

Lord, I pray for us, myself included.

That there would be a fresh revelation of the power of prayer. A fresh revelation of just how pleasing and fragrant it is to you when we pray.

Lord, thank you for prayer. Our prayer tonight is that as we now commence with our study through the book of Proverbs,

that you would bless our time together in your word.

And as we study this first chapter, that you would give us eyes that we can see and ears that we can hear and hearts that are open

to receive, that we would be teachable, that our hearts and minds would be supple so that when

the seed of your word is met with

that supple heart, that supple mind, that there is a germination and a sprouting that takes

place and bears fruit.

Lord, thank you for your word.

We commit our Bible study to you tonight in Jesus' name. Amen.
