All right, we start a brand new series today, seven weeks, looking at some themes from the Book of Proverbs.

We're going to start with kids in parenting

because it's back to school week.

How many of you your kids started school recently

or even this week?

That was the occasion at our house.

If you're new, we've got five kids.

They're coming up on birthdays, so it'll be 14, 16, 18, 20, and 22 and the three

younger kids all started school this week. I'll tell you what it used to be like

versus what it's like today. When the kids were really little

Grace and I'd get up early, we get them ready for school, we put them in the car,

always took the kids to the first day of the school, are you okay, are you going to

be all right, do you need me to stay? You know, no dad I'm fine you can go now. You're weird and freaking me out so you can go dad

So then Grace and I kid you not this is exactly what. We'd go sit in the car and cry.

That's exactly what we did.

Cry, not tears of joy, tears of sadness.

This year, the kids are big enough, they drive themselves. It was the first year I didn't get to drive my kids to school.

They got in the car, drove away and we cried.
