A lot of people are going to be thinking more about their reelection and connection with

how they vote on a budget deal than about their actual job of appropriating money.

And I think the really discouraging thing about these last minute negotiations, even though

I value them, this needs to get done.

We are not going to be in a good place if Nancy Pelosi and Steve Mnuchin do not get a

deal that they can get passed and that the president will agree to.

And I would hate to be Steve Mnuchin not knowing if my boss is going to sign up on what

I ultimately negotiate, right?

There's always that factor of the administration can negotiate something and the president

can change his mind the last minute.

It's happened a lot of times.
