I'm a therapist and a professor, and I almost forgot the word host.

Who are you, Bob?

I'm not a host.

I am a therapist in practice in Seattle I see couples they do some dBT and I'm your

old friend from grad school a hundred years ago. Well the first thing I want to

talk about is the George Floyd death and protests.

You know, just as you just bring it up and I sort of slow down and I start thinking

about it, I just feel sadness and tenderness. You know it's it's like I feel

self-conscious because I'm a white straight man in America so I'm in the

cat bird seat of privilege.

So it feels like anything I have to say is, you know, who gives a shit?

People are sick of hearing from white guys.

I'm impressed with the strength and the dignity of people that are

standing and marching and I can only just unbelievable and yet there it is common experience.

It's just a white person would say, it's hard to believe.

A person of color would say,

welcome to my fucking world, I imagine.

So anyways, I feel horror and sadness and guilt and shame and

a wish to not sound patronizing.
