0:05.0	So for those who are watching, sum up what just happened over the past year, maybe in a minute,

0:11.0	Well, what's happened over just the last year is that I was a United Methodist elder,
0:16.0	a pastor of a congregation, and after a long period of time and discernment I made the leap to become
0:23.2	catholic so that's what happened within the last year I was raised in a united methodist family
0:28.9	in gastonia north Carolina shout out to gtown and um i attended a united methodist church
0:35.5	i was a nominally christian person, became a dissipated youth.
0:40.2	But I did have a what we were called in the Protestant world at the time, a born-again
0:44.0	experience, which led me to discern a call to ministry within the United Methodist Church.
0:49.9	And that's what I did for 18 years.
0:52.5	That's fantastic.
0:53.2	And I have been a Catholic in full communion for about two or three months. Two or three months. Because you and I were going to do a sort of Skype interview a few months back. I'm glad we didn't. It's always nice to be able to sit across a table and chat in a person. Yeah. Okay. Wow. All right. Where do we begin? So Methodist pastor North Carolina, you said it was a relatively
1:14.2	big church for a Methodist congregation.
1:16.2	Well, my last, in the United Methodist Church, there was an appointment system, and we have
1:21.7	a bishop, and the bishop appoints the clergy to the churches assigns them. And my last appointment was Davidson United
1:30.0	Methodist Church. I was a senior pastor there. A congregation of about between 2,500 to 3,200.
1:38.2	Wow, that's big. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Okay. So what was your opinion of Catholics as you came into the ministry as a pastor?
1:48.7	I had no opinion of Catholics. In the south where I'm from, there was one Catholic parish.
