earlier about a major freeway that was shut down for 10 hours like right before rush hour

and then all night long because somebody was on the bridge threatening to jump off of it.

And we were arguing about or discussing how long how long do you

inconvenience when I use that word it sounds kind of small but how many people did you inconvenience

for how long for somebody standing on a bridge who says they're going to jump. 10 hours seems

like too much to me. Major metropolitan area yeah tens of thousands of cars and I mean more people

if you'll admit there's a limit would you do it for a week? No. So if you'll admit there a limit

then what where should you draw the line? That's you know what that's some good practical

thinking right there. But we got this text. The world needs both sides. I sat on a super practical

and the super compassion. I sat on a bridge in Portland a few years ago waiting for a jumper.

For the first hour I and all the people around me were compassionate in our conversation as we got

out of our vehicles and waited patiently. At the hour and a half point we were muttering to each other

that the guy should just jump already. By the third hour we'd retry to shut him. By the third hour

we'd already treated to our vehicles to sit alone rather than form a mob to toss the crazy

inconsiderate A-hole off the bridge. Wow. Finally gave himself up and a place to come away. But

people's moods even in Portlandia changed as time went by and they and that was the hour and a half
