Interesting issue of protecting minors from pornography.

This has been going on actually ever since the world of porn, either in film or television or cable or on the internet, because

that's when it exploded. Because how do you keep minors from viewing porn on the internet?

And there's really no way to check who goes on the internet. So 19 states have passed laws that pornography websites must confirm a user's age before allowing them to view adult contact,

content, either by uploading a photo of their government-issued ID or allowing their faces to be scanned,

and then through the internet and data mining, they can figure out exactly who you are, how old you are, etc.

And there was a lawsuit filed by the Free Speech Coalition, which is a nonprofit First Amendment organization, that is attacking

that law.

And the Supreme Court just heard it.

And the argument is that protecting minors from harmful effects from pornography, which is

legitimate because they do know that minors have a problem.

There has been studies out there that underage viewers suffer from increased misogyny,

sexual aggression, mental health issues, unsafe sex.

And, okay, but checking to see if they're adults or they're over 18 really doesn't work

because it undermines the rights of adults who use these sites. Well, how is that possible if it's

only about minors? Well, the Free Speech Coalition says it chills First Amendment. It chills the ability of adults to go online, which I don't know quite that is.

And so now you have this free speech coalition up against these states.

And Amy Coney-Barritt, one of the more conservative justice, said in her questioning,

wait a minute, adults have to show ID in order to enter a movie theater or display pornographic movies.
