0:07.0	We know where that pizza is and there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to track a ballot the same way. Hello and welcome to the Politics Girl podcast. I'm your host Lee McGowan. Let's get into it.
0:27.6	If you've been paying attention to the news, which I know if you listen to the show you have been,
0:31.6	you understand that our voting rights are under attack all over this country.
0:36.1	Just leading up to today's elections, Ohio Republicans quietly purged 27,000 voters from its roles after the August election, knowing abortion rights were on the
0:45.9	ballot and that the majority of Ohio voters wanted to protect those rights.
0:50.0	Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, with his majority on the line, is now in hot water after purging
0:55.4	3,400 voters ahead of these elections, after saying they'd made a mistake and purged 270 voters,
1:01.4	but it turned out to be 10 times more. And while 3,400 might not sound like a lot of people,
1:07.4	it's important to remember that some of these Virginia districts were won or lost by less than a
1:11.7	hundred votes. Some candidates won the last election by one or two votes. So we're moving
1:16.7	over 3,000 registered and totally legal voters feels like a strategy
1:21.9	rather than a mistake. And that's it really. It is a strategy. It's
1:26.7	been a strategy for years to use these tactics to win without winning and we have to see it
1:31.8	for what it is and fight back.
1:34.1	To talk about the importance of election security, election integrity, and what we can do about
1:38.5	election interference, I'm joined today by Nevada Secretary of State Francisco,
1:43.4	known as Cisco Aguilerre.
1:45.5	Cisco was elected in the 2022 midterms
1:48.2	after running against a very vocal election denier
1:51.0	and will serve four years and hopefully two terms in charge of the safety and security of Nevada's elections.
1:57.0	Prior to being elected, Secretary Aguilerre spent eight years on the Nevada Athletic Commission, worked as Legal Counsel for Nevada's Higher Education
