He was a young, maybe just out of law school, larval legal punk at some law firm somewhere.

There was an NR event and they were like,

we're starting this thing called Red State or something.

I was like, whatever, okay?

And then he went on to found and run this thing called Red State.

He is now one of the last guys to really make talk radio still work down in Georgia.

We were fellow CNN contributors 20 years ago, and I'm sure we've

our paths have crossed a billion other times. But Eric Erickson, welcome to the remnant.

Thank you. I should say it was actually Ben Dominic, Mike Krompaskin, Josh Trevino, who were

the kickoff for Red State, although I actually do credit you regularly

for getting me into blogging because while you were at National Review and I hated being a lawyer,

I emailed you more than once. And at some point, I got this email back from you. This would have been

2003, probably, that, you know, there's this thing called blog spot you should check it out and

i did and the rest is history and and to this day you curse me absolutely my wife does um i sometimes

think about how like everyone told me how hard it was to get published in the wall street journal everyone told me how hard it was to get published in the Wall Street Journal.
