For today's prophecy update, the Lord has led me in a different direction of sorts.

And I hope you'll bear with me.

We usually look at current developments of prophetic significance and try to connect the dots with what's happening in the world, with

what the Bible says will happen at the time of the end of the world. But today, my sense is that

I need to share from my heart that which God has put on my heart.

And I realize that what I'm about to say might sound like a firm grasp of the obvious,

but I'm going to say it nonetheless, and I hope that you'll just hear my heart and bear with me.

The purpose of Bible prophecy is to point us to the person of Jesus Christ.

Again, I know that might sound like a firm grasp of the obvious, but if I can be so bold as to say my concern is that we're all prone to

get caught up, you'll pardon the pun, in Bible prophecy, and in so doing we lose sight of the purpose of Bible prophecy.

Again, I'm just sharing my heart and I hope and pray that you'll receive it as such.

If I can be even more bold, I have to say that we're also prone to focus on Bible prophecy teachers like myself.

And in so doing we can lose sight of Jesus.

I don't want to come off as being confrontational.

I'm only seeking to get back to the main thing and the main

thing is Jesus. And maybe this is something the Lord needs to do in my heart as well because I'm

just as prone as anybody else to get really, you know, again, caught up in what's happening in the world and in so doing. It's very

subtle, but you end up taking your eyes off of Jesus. And that's the purpose of the Bible

prophecy in the first place. Please don't get me wrong. I love Bible prophecy. I love teaching Bible prophecy, but we need to be very careful when it comes to Bible prophecy. And by careful I mean, instead of being eager to hear the latest teaching from the popular prophecy teacher, we really should be more eager to hear about Jesus and tell

others about Jesus.

One of the things that, and again, I'm just sharing from my heart, that really bothers me

is when people say, man, I want to hear what J.D. has to say about this.
