A lot of NBA talk, both last night and previewing tonight's slate. We got two awesome guests. It's a double guest Wednesday. Eric Alterman's going to join us with his favorite baseball plays today. Lots of day baseball going on. Alex Barutha going to join us to talk a little NBA as well. Then we'll finish that up with our best bets and my baseball plays for the the day. Really looking forward to today's slate. A lot of great pitching matchups. A lot going on there. Nick Whalen. Let's talk hoops though first. Huge turnaround in the Philly Boston game. Huge turnaround in that series. When I left to go play tennis last night, the Celtics were up 10 in the second quarter. I came back like, okay, Celtics moved on. I'm looking forward to seeing how big of a blowout it was. Wait,

0:58.4

what? Philly one big? They pulled away late in this one. Shocking result for me.

1:05.2

Shock and result shocking fourth quarter specifically from the Boston Celtics, Jeff. And I'm with you.

1:10.4

I mean, it looked like this game was, was going to be put away multiple times by the Celtics. It looked like we were sailing over last night. This is one of the more unlikely unders that you will see. I was actually out hitting golf balls as I am one to do last night. Jeff brought the iPad out there. Weirdly enough, I was the only guy streaming a Sixer Celtics game at a driving range in Wisconsin last night. Nobody else brought their setup. So I was able to keep an eye on this game. And I'm thinking to myself like, man, I wish I would have taken the over. This is so obvious in retrospect. And really the only way it could go under is if one of these teams has like a 10 point fourth quarter. Turn out it was the Boston Celtics who put up 11 points in the fourth. Yet another one of these monster letdown games that it feels like we see every year in the postseason for the Celtics. We don't have time. You have to run through the entire list of all the times that a game like this has happened to Boston. But here's what you need to know since 2022, not that long ago.

2:02.5

Since 2022, the Celtics have lost 13 home playoff games as a favorite of at least seven

2:08.8

and a half points.

2:09.7

They were a double digit favorite in eight of those 13 games.

2:12.9

And we're not talking failed to cover lost straight up in that scenario.

2:16.4

Now Boston does tend to whipsaw back and

2:19.6

forth after these games you know they have a long history of letdown games after a big win

2:23.7

that's what we saw last night then they tend to overcorrect uh the next game so maybe that's what

2:28.1

we see in game six sixers currently a five and a half six and a half point favorites tomorrow

2:32.5

night depending on where you're looking

2:34.3

but jeff we talked a lot about boston shooting variants you know opening up some opportunities

2:38.7

for the sixers in this series the Celtics didn't shoot a well down the stretch but this was not

2:43.7

really one of those games it wasn't like they went 12 of 55 from three they only took 39 threes
