We're going to jump in, going your Bible to Hebrews chapter 12, Hebrews chapter 12.

We're going to jump in today to verse number five.

We've been talking together about the love of the father. First John chapter three,

verse one. What great love the father, our father has lavished on us. And if you've missed the first

week or the second week, go back and listen to those messages.

We're really trying, we're doing our due diligence to erase our father's image, as good or bad as your earthly father was, to really get a glimpse of our heavenly father.

See how, you know, I was using these words last week, how awesome and mighty,

faithful, loving this father is. Because if you see, it's kind of like that whole thought,

you can't receive from someone you don't honor. And the more you honor the father,

you can receive from the father. So if we get a good,

clear, accurate image of the father, I think it just changes the way we see ourselves. It's an old

saying, but you don't know who you are until you know whose you are. When you understand that

this is my father in heaven it changes your confidence changes your identity

and i'm just praying and believing for our church that will walk in the confidence that we are sons and

daughters sons and daughters of a good father that's that lavish love that you and i, us, we get to be called children of God.

I want to jump into this third week. And today I'm talking about one of the most exciting things

about a father and that a father disciplines his children. I grew up with parents that were passionate about discipline.

My dad was so passionate when I was growing up, my father, I'll never forget.

He went into, we had a like a woodshed in the house that I was growing up in.
