Summary

For this week's Big Wednesday episode we are taking a big leap into the future. We already projected the 2021 depth chart, but that was child's play. What will Ohio State's starting offensive and defensive lineups be in 2023? Obviously, accuracy is not the goal here. A similar exercise in 2017 only predicted 11 of 22 spots for 2020. However, it opened some interesting discussions of what we expected from the good young players on the current Buckeyes roster and how quickly we think incoming recruits and prospects -- some of whom remain uncommitted -- will make an impact. Also, we discussed Tennessee's pursuit of Al Washington to be its defensive coordinator, including why or why not the Volunteers make sense as his next destination and why his departure would be a big loss for Ohio State. Lamarice, Nathan Baird, Steven, means we are projecting the 2023 Ohio State starting

0:42.8

lineup and it brings the recruiting class to life. It will be the third year of these

0:49.8

2021 recruits who will start how good will the Buckeyes be? Who will be the quarterback?

0:55.2

Or the receiver room look like? How good might this defense be? Nathan Baird put together

1:00.2

the 2023 starting lineup so that Steven and I could then attack it and we go through

1:05.8

the whole thing. We've already recorded that part. We also revisit a prediction from 2017

1:12.2

on what the 2020 starting lineup would look like and how accurate was that prediction?

1:18.2

So it's a really fun way to think about recruits as players and it was a really fun exercise

1:25.2

and I know you guys are going to enjoy it, but we want to dive in. Nathan, I don't, Steven,

1:29.1

it's not like news yet, but it's a discussion at the moment. Nathan is waiting for me to

1:34.0

officially comment on the record on his hair, which is like standing tall. I'm leaving

1:38.7

it like this. Is it, do you have like gel in or like, why are you able to do this with

1:43.4

your hair right now? I have not washed it today. That's what I was going to say that, but

1:47.0

I was going to allow you the chance to admit the fact you have no. You guys wash your hair

1:50.7

every day. Today, I have not washed it. I worry, I wash my hair every day, but then every

1:55.2

day a little bit more falls out. So that's it. I don't really have that problem. It's like

1:59.9

the one physical attribute that I have going for me is I will, I have all the hair that

2:05.3

I need and more, but I have not, I think I watched it yesterday afternoon. So it's been

2:11.4

since then. All right. So we're recording this around five o'clock on Tuesday evening

2:15.5

and as we record it, no official decision yet on Al Washington. The Ohio State Linebacker's
