those are the comments from theo vaugh in the past 24, and it comes after he had a live recording for his Netflix special that kind of got off the rails.

And there was some reports that fans in the audience were asking him if he was suicidal.

And he said, you know, I'm just trying not to kill myself.

I don't know what to tell you about that, man. I'm having a long month.

I'm trying not to take my life.

I think he was being playful when he said that.

When he talks on that clip right there,

yes, he's a stand-up comedian and a damn good one.

That was not joking.

That was extraordinarily sincere.

Now, whether or not you actually think that his life is in jeopardy as a consequence of his pushback against Israel or saying free Gaza or free Palestine or any of that stuff, that is a really important moment when it comes to pop culture in this country. And one that I think would be a mistake to ignore it would be a

even graver mistake to pretend as if this is indicative of you know just far-reaching anti-semitism

blah blah blah look I'm not saying that he's right I'm just saying that he's sincere

and it's really important that you don't just demonize him for expressing how he feels the

fact that one of the most prominent stand-up comics in the world and he is whether you like him or not

he is that but feel it necessary to come out and declare his love of life because of a foreign nation

and fears therein is pretty profound.
