So today is Wednesday, October the first, new month, new mood, same country,

I guess. Yeah. The federal government last night shut down at midnight after Congress basically

deadlocked on their efforts to reach a deal on funding. I'm saying Congress, because I'm trying to

be polite, but really this was sort of baked in. Right now, we have a situation where the Democrats are doing whatever it is that they can to hold on to health care.

They're trying to preserve the Obamacare subsidies. They're trying to ensure that an additional four million people are not going to lose access to their health care on top of all the people who are losing access to their health care as a result of the big bitch-ass bill that got passed into law.

Now, the challenge that we're facing is that essentially Republicans are using this as a

cosplay moment.

They are using this opportunity, and I don't want to call it an opportunity, but they're using

this situation to basically finalize and finish the next round of their Project 2025 efforts. And so that's why I'm

calling today's umbrella topic. Project 2025 is cosplane as a government shutdown. In addition to some

conversations we need to have about how we move differently. Now, nobody really knows how long this is

going to last, but let us be clear, this is something Republicans have wanted for a very long time.

And Donald Trump and the other GOP leaders have basically said that the Democrats want

free health care for illegal aliens in order to not shut down the government.

That's absolutely not true.

And in fact, Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, got called on the fact that this is not true
