Summary

In 2019, after my third attempt to BQ, I stopped chasing my impossible dream to qualify for the Boston marathon after running 3 hours 42 minutes in the marathon. (Missing my BQ by 12 minutes). Well...BQ OR BUST take 4! But it all starts with spending the next 12-weeks training to break 2 hours in the half marathon. The Philly Half Marathon to be exact. Every week I'll be breaking down my training here so watch or tune in!

Week 6 of training to break 2 hours in the half marathon (I'm calling this Project 1:59) is finished. So let's talk about it!

kind of like breaking down my training as I chase down this huge giant

moonshot seemingly insurmountable kind of sort of impossible goal to try to qualify for the Boston

marathon in order to qualify for the Boston Marathon. In order to qualify for the Boston

Marathon for myself at my age group I need to run a three hour 30 minute

marathon. Tragic. It was supposed to be 335 but they just changed the standard like weeks ago.

Big sigh.

I have tried for three I tried for three years to qualify for the Boston

Marathon. I took my marathon time from four hours I should say sub five sub four

Three 59 because I fought like hell for that sub 4.

Down to in my first try 342, and then I got hurt,

my second try, so kind of a wash.

And then my third try that I spent well I should say I spent the next like year and a half coming back from an injury and then my next try I did 337 so still off and so I decided I wanted to try again because 335 was my new age group and then

they changed the standard like two weeks after I announced so now we're back to 330 which is fine because the

time really is irrelevant it is all I mean it's not irrelevant I'm not going to say

it's irrelevant because it is relevant and in order to qualify for the Boston Marathon I need to run a

330 now not the 335 but the journey from A to B is still the same you do the

work you show up you give your best and your best is all you have right if it's

enough to get into the Boston Marathon and be cute great if it's not you're still going to walk
