My name's Toby Young and I'm an associate editor.

I recently spoke to Wilfred Riley,

an associate professor of political science at Kentucky State

University about his new book, To Boo, 10 Facts You Can't Talk About.

Riley is also the author of Hate Crime Hokes and one of the contributors to the 1776 project,

a counterpoint to the New York Times' 1619 project.

We spent the first 15 minutes talking about coronavirus, but I've chopped all that out because I'm

assuming that if you're self isolating because of COVID-19, the last thing you want to hear is even more chat about the virus. Taboo, 10 Facts You Can't Talk About, is designed to sort of open up the kind of conversations we just had.

The initial idea for the book actually came from my partner, Jane.
