Summary

3 | The Paradox of Productivity*: how “productive procrastination” actually decreases your overall productivity and makes you miserable — and what you can do about it.

I also would like to formally apologize for the extreme amounts of street noise, road rage, and children screaming (??) that were going on as I was recording this & that my microphone picked up. I will be changing my recording location next time to hopefully eliminate this, so pls bear with me as I’m still starting out. Thank you for listening & the info/sources I mentioned in the episode are listed below :)

Good morning, everyone. Welcome back to another episode of Digital Diary with Hannah Elise. I am your host,

0:07.2

Hannah Elise, and I do apologize if you hear anything that's happening outside my window right now.

0:12.3

There's always some shit going on, and it's always extremely loud for no reason. Like, what the

0:16.5

fuck are they doing? It's just always something. I live in New York City. I apologize if you can hear anything.

0:21.7

Anywho, good morning, everyone. Good afternoon. Good evening. Whenever you're listening to this.

I'm currently recording this. It just turned afternoon. It is very overcast Friday. It has been,

0:31.8

I swear to God, I've seen the sun one time in New York City in the past two weeks, and that was on

0:36.4

Monday of this week. And I thought that when I saw this on Monday, that that meant it was going to be coming back. I was so wrong. Today's Friday. Haven't seen it since. I feel like I'm waking up every day and it's like the Groundhog Day movie where you wake up and it's, you're just living the same day over and over again. That is how this weather makes me feel.

But I'm trying to make my setup as cozy as possible I have my lights on. I'm sitting here wrapped up in my barefoot dreams blanket that I got for Christmas, which by the way was one of the greatest gifts I think I've ever received. I'm not even going to lie. It is so worth the hype. And I have my Starbucks. I ran to Starbucks this morning because I ran some

1:13.3

other errands and I decided Starbucks was my treat for running my errands. I find every excuse to treat

1:19.6

myself and I see nothing wrong with that. What is life if not enjoyable? Let's go over what I'm

1:26.3

drinking today. I ordered a venty iced brown sugar,

1:30.5

oat milk espresso, and I add two pumps of cinnamon dolce syrup to this. If you're not a Starbucks

1:35.3

person or you don't like coffee, sorry this is irrelevant for you, but I'll keep it short. This is

1:40.3

my favorite drink to order from Starbucks right now. It is so good. So definitely try it the next time you go if you feel like it.

1:47.1

But that is what I am sipping on at the moment.

1:49.7

Here's some ASMR.

1:53.6

I feel like every time I start a podcast, it takes me a second

1:56.4

until I get into the groove of talking.

1:58.4

Doing a podcast is super interesting because I'm paying more attention

2:02.5

to the way my voice is sounding and just like my mouth than I think I've ever paid attention to

2:09.1

it before. You know what I mean? I'm still new at this, but I love recording podcasts. So I'm very,
