Summary

A brief update, with our apologies.

Despite our best efforts to return with new episodes by the end of April, we need some additional time due to some behind-the-scenes challenges beyond our control.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. As always, Canadian True Crime remains committed to presenting these cases with accuracy, care, depth and context.

Please be assured that new episodes are on the way and we’re really excited to be able to share them with you soon.

Hi there, another quick update with apologies.

0:03.3

Despite my best efforts to return with new episodes by the end of April, I need a bit more time

0:09.2

due to factors beyond my control.

0:11.5

I touched on it in the March update, but last year I had a number of extra commitments,

0:16.7

advocacy work and opportunities to make a difference alongside producing podcast episodes.

0:22.5

It was an intense year balancing at all and I wasn't able to take a publishing break until

0:27.4

February. This created some unavoidable flow-on effects. I've been doing the very best I can

0:33.3

during this break and while I've made considerable progress getting ahead on the new season,

0:38.7

some new challenges have come up that I've also had to navigate. Sickness is one of those challenges.

0:44.6

I love making Canadian true crime. It's still my passion project and I'm still the primary

0:50.3

writer, in most cases the only writer. I put a huge amount of care, attention and energy

0:56.0

into every episode, from the choice of case to the way it's presented and the intention behind it.

1:01.8

And I do wish I could be more cavalier about the whole thing and get a simple episode out for

1:06.6

quick content, but that's just not my thing. It's important to me to present these cases with

1:12.3

accuracy, depth and context. The stakes are too high and there are actual legal ramifications.

1:18.9

Rushing the work would compromise the very thing that makes it meaningful. I know that many

1:24.0

of you will understand, and there's some of you who will be disappointed and

1:27.9

frustrated.

1:29.0

We've been receiving your emails, and I've also seen the backlash when other true crime

1:33.4

podcasts announce extended breaks.

1:36.0

There is a lot of burnout and fatigue out there.

1:39.1

All I can say is this.
