procrastination, emails, and during my YouTube live Q&As, people asking about it. So I thought I

would do a deep dive on procrastination. There's a lot to say. I think that there's a lot of

misunderstandings about procrastination. And often people will just say, you know what? Just don't

be lazy. You need to use your willpower. Well, it is way more complicated than that. And a lot of our

simplistic notions about procrastination and how to get things done will actually keep us in a

cycle of procrastination. In this episode, this is going to be a patron only episode, by the way.

This episode, I'm going to go over the definition of procrastination, the prevalence rates a little

bit. I'm going to talk about the typology or the different types of procrastination. We're going

to talk about the coping techniques. This is a very important part of this lecture is that there are

different ways in which people will cope maladaptively with their procrastination and perpetuated.

And then I'm going to talk about the many, many factors according to research and according to my

clinical experience that are involved in procrastination. That's kind of the beat of this lecture,

all the various causes and none of the causes are laziness or lack of willpower. I'm going to talk

procrastination. There's a lot of different things you can do. And they're basically based on the
