So some of you will email me and ask me to talk about group therapy and specifically process groups.

And it's something that I don't currently do in my career, but I have in the past.

And process groups are powerful therapeutic methods.

You're in a group of, you know,

and there's a therapist there maybe two therapists and you are there to

process your feelings you're there to talk about your relationships you're there to

talk about your identity and the struggles of your life and these

process groups can often become long-term situations for clients in which people are in

decades. I know one colleague who has a process group that's been

continuously running for, I don't know, 15 years or something and imagine how deeply connected you would be not

only to your therapist but to your fellow group members and And the sort of interesting interactions

that occur, because the group therapist processing

person facilitates conversations between the members

so that there can be very interesting things that can be

said between the group members and it's a bit of a shame in that our current Medicaid or I don't know managed care system

doesn't pay very much for this sort of thing and so a lot of people as clinicians

shy away from doing this work even though there's a lot of

clients who actually would want it. And also it's a pain in the ass to organize

because you have to get all these clients in you have to do all these
