that I've had a lot of trouble with and I've gotten multiple questions I think from three or four people now

about cilantro or coriander depending on which part of it you decide to use in your

cooking but the question is which part of it you decide to use in your cooking.

But the question is, how do you grow it from seed?

How do you get those weird ball-looking seeds

to actually grow and germinate appropriately.

And so first a little story.

So I ran into this problem when I was growing microgreens

commercially.

And a chef asked me for cilantro microgreens, which I had never grown before.

And then, of course, wanting to make the sale, I said, oh yeah, no problem.

I love cilantro. Let's go ahead and get that going for you.

I'll have an order ready in two weeks for you.

And so I quickly overnight shipped some cilantro seed to my house

and tried to figure out how to grow it, and I ran into many, many problems.

And so what's interesting about cilantro

or coriander is that the seeds are unlike many other seeds.

If you're growing basil, you might run into the problem of the seed sticking because it's a

musilaginous seed, it creates that little gel barrier and it's a small seed.

If you're growing lettuce, it's a small seed.
