N.D. started as a glorified reality show for the W. W. W.E. Pitting indie stars and other wrestling hopefuls against each other for a shot on the main roster.

The WWE would abandon this model in 2012 as Triple H looked to capitalize on the increasingly popular independent wrestling scene.

I know when I worked behind the scenes and developmental there and

I know when I worked behind the scenes in developmental there was always the pitch of making

their own developmental brand like a triple A organization in baseball where it would

tour and there was you know they were toying with it just being an East Coast

thing or some popular cities. It kind of became

NXT's blueprint is what W. W. W. had pitched to be ECW, where it would be a culmination of stars who may be on their way down from the main roster and stars who they never heard of.

And if you think about W. W. is ECW. We got the likes of CM Punk. We got Kofi Kingston.

We got Seamus. We got a lot of talents first came through there before they

went on to bigger and better.

So to say, I don't know what was in Triple H's thinking, but I know because that was my job.

I ran the developmental system.
