Happy New Year, everybody.

My name's Andrew Spade. I'm joined by Jake Burns. Jake, a happy new year to you as well. Yeah, happy New Year, man. Hopefully it was good for you guys. It was good here, a lot of moving parts and got to watch some good football. You know, throughout the day that Arizona State, Texas game was a lot of fun. I think that Arizona State will be reliving that fourth down, all-out blitz for a while. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, especially when it unfolded. And they, you know, because teams like to

dummy call and then kind of like see the creeping movement of the defense and it was obvious they were blitzing so

they defined it very well for Quinn who I didn't think played very well but but had an answer and yeah I think

they're going to relive that one forever and then uh yeah the Rose Bowl was if you're in Ohio State fan a lot of fun

they played up to what seems to be the best team in the country right now.

So, yeah, that was good.

Otherwise, Andrew, as you know, the disaster and terrible situation that leaves us with

a game today.

So obviously, everybody's thinking about those folks that lost their life and the horror

that comes with that, man.

And for the football standpoint, it does alter a lot of, you know, people's plans and all

that stuff. And it's crazy. I don't have an overwhelming take on this that belongs on a Browns

podcast, but it's just jarring when you see that stuff happen. And it's really sad. And, uh, yeah, tough. Because I know, I mean, like some, some people I know were down that way, uh, for new, new years. And then obviously for for like covering that game and stuff. And it just, it's tough, dude. It's tough. But on a head less heavy note, man, how was your new year? Hopefully it was good. Yeah, it is absolutely difficult. And when sports and the, some of the violence that we see

in our day-to-day life crossover, it's just always, I think a lot of the reason people get

into sports is because it's a, it's kind of an escape from that stuff. And so when it does end up affecting it, it's just, it's all the more jarring because of that, whether it's this or, you know, other, other times in our history where things have had to be rescheduled or canceled altogether, even, you know, even talking about COVID and all that sort of stuff. When real life intrudes on sports, it always feels real unwelcome. But yeah, my New Year's was good and watched that Arizona State, Texas

game. I actually liked the Sun Devils there against the spread and was kind of, you know,

I spent a lot of that game being like, oh, I was very wrong about this.
