We considered in the previous conference the parable of the prodigal son and in it we see

the importance of confidence in God's mercy, the good shepherd's love and concern for the sinner, the lost sheep.

The Sacred Heart, of course, has a burning desire to show mercy and wishes to inspire in souls,

a great confidence in his mercy, in his forgiveness.

This confidence in God's mercy should be a hallmark of our devotion to the sacred heart.
