We looked in the last series of conferences at the spirit of humility, a spirit taught and lived by our Lord Jesus Christ,

a spirit which is absolutely necessary for the Apostle of the Sacred Heart.

It is of course a spirit that recognizes that all good comes from God,

a spirit that recognizes our own littleness,

our need for mercy,

that we are all sinners in need of God's forgiveness.

The danger, of course, is that in considering our sin,

our unworthiness, our littleness,

we could become paralyzed by this consideration
