We're going to talk with Priska, our guest for today, who I will introduce momentarily,

about how religion impacted her, the shame that she experienced when

leaving the church, her journey through sexual liberation, and also with estrangement that she

experienced during this time with her family. We also end this episode with a call to action,

a word that Prisca prefers that we use for her instead of the word brave.

With that, let's go ahead and introduce Prisca.

Prisca Dorcas Mohica Rodriguez is a leading Latina activist with roots from Nicaragua.

She's a writer, a speaker, and is the founder of Latina Rebels,

which is an account that has over 350,000 followers. She's also the author of four brown

girls with sharp edges and tender hearts. She has been featured on NPR, New York

magazines The Cut, Teen Vogue, and Cosmopolitan, among many others, I'm sure.

She earned her masters from Vanderbilt and lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Prisca grew up surrounded and raised by a loving community of women, her abuelas,

Tias, and Primas, who have been the beating heart and backbone of her
