In November of 2021, then Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance spoke at the National Conservatism Conference.

His speech was titled, Universities are the enemy.

I think if any of us want to do the things that we want to do for our country and for the people who live in it,

Since then, Vance has, of course, become vice president of the United States.

The Trump administration in which he serves has turned the considerable power of the federal government towards bringing universities to heal.

It has cut billions of dollars in federal research grants to elite institutions.

President Trump has issued a slew of executive orders and actions targeting universities when it comes to free speech, academic freedom, anti-Semitism,
