Summary

“All the princess’s hopes now rest on the brave youth she loves.” There's much more to the story of the original Prince of Persia than the famous fact that creator Jordan Mechner rotoscoped his little brother into the game. Leon, Chris, Jesse, Karl and some brilliant forum contributions celebrate not only that eye-popping animation, but also the game's cinematic and storytelling flair, level design and atmosphere. The panel also looks at a few of the myriad versions and conversions, and considers the changes made for the downloadable 2007 'Classic' console update. http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/podcast/cane_and_rinse_issue_437.mp3   Music featured in this issue taken from the DOS version and composed by Francis Mechner (music) and Tom Rettig (sounds).
