We have a new show at Maximum Fund called Primer. We're going to share a little bit of it.

It is a podcast. It is hosted by my friend and colleague at maximum fund Christian

Duanez.

He produced one of my favorite Max Fun shows ever.

Heat Rocks among other shows at Max Fun.

And his co-host isosuke Kitazawa, who is a record label owner and music writer.

It is also produced by the senior producer of Bullsey, Kevin Ferguson, and Richard Roby from Bullsey.

So I am hoping that you will be a big fan.

Primer is a podcast about music, the kind of music that might pop up in your favorite streaming app or when you're

somewhere cool and you hear it and you think, I am into that, but what is it?

The kind of thing that makes you wonder,

who recorded that?

What are their stories?

How did they end up here in my headphones?

Every season Primer is about a different genre of music

from outside the English-speaking world. The first season they are covering a

Japanese genre called City Pop. This is like, gosh, it's a little hard to describe,

but a little jazzy like a steely Dan or a baz gags or a sophisticated, it's like there's there's jazz fusion elements

there's kind of light pop MOR elements there's funky parts it's a it's a very

special and particular thing that a lot of people in the music world have been really, really excited about lately.

The Yellow Magic Orchestra, Tycho Onuki, Tatsuro Yamashita, some of the people, maybe you've heard of one or none, I don't know.
