Now as much as I would like to ignore it, we can't start this episode without mentioning

the elephant in the proverbial room, which is Jeff Bezos' trip to space.

Well okay, he barely went to space, so it's more like a trip to space's foyer.

But it got a lot of attention, as the whims of billionaires always do.

I hope you were lucky enough not to see how this was covered on television, as what we got

was hours of breathless PR for Jeff Bezos, with anchors basking in the supposed glory of

a man having so much money that he can be engaged in such an enterprise.

It's worth taking in here that Bezos said that really this is a step toward his vision

of moving industry to other planets.
